You will often hear it said that we all have guides, angels, or beings that look after and care especially for us. This can be as simple and direct as the loving friends, pets, or natural surroundings that any of us may be blessed with. In fact, everything around us carries a message…especially encoded for our soul to read, and as our souls become more literate in this language of life guidance, we are able to catch more and more of the direction life is always providing for us.
Often, however, the guides that are being referred to are from another plane entirely and represent a guidance that can be both more subtle and at the same time often more vivid. For those of us who are open to many forms of God, we may have found ourselves browsing through cards in a bookstore…paintings of hindu gods or chinese dieties…goddesses and angels as well…when one catches our eye and we feel a sense of connection. Perhaps we dismiss this feeling and move on, or perhaps we buy the card and look at it now and then, remembering the feeling.
There is another level. These images have not been painted and adored without reason. They represent beings and energies that have benevolently supported the human journey for as long as humans have existed. These images from temple walls, cave walls, canvas, and stone, are the loving representations of our energetic borthers and sisters…and they are older, and often wiser and love to share with us.
Without going deeply into procedure I have an exciting challenge for you all. Go find the card in your drawer, or if you don’t have one then go find a book of images of beings or angels and find the one you relate to. Then make a color copy and put it somewhere quiet and reflective in your home. Then sit in front of it, look at the image and then close your eyes and ask what this being may want to tell you. Then trust your own inner senses and listen. It may begin a whole new dialogue in your life, and a whole new friendship.
