There is a place within each of us where we hold back our light. We fear it is too bright, that it will blind the others around us and that then it may even be our fault that no one can see. We fear that if we shine our light we may find it less bright than we hoped. We take our deepest, richest, holiest gold and hide it deep in our hearts. If we come to love someone enough, we might show it to them. Certain situations just beg us to open our great box and let the rays of gold spill everywhere…but sometimes we count how many rays we let out at a time. We worry that we will have wasted them, or that they will run out.
What would happen if every day we just went a little further in our display of our gifts…even the thought of displaying them brings up all the issues of thinking of them like products. They are the product of our soul. Our souls produce this infinitely beautiful and rich light. But what if we did display them, not to cheapen or falsely exalt them, but with the same joy we display a beloved piece of art.
Would it mean that every day we were simply less afraid to dress more like we really want to, would it mean we would be less afraid to aim for a higher goal with our work or service in the world? Would we be less surprised by complements or opportunities that feel perfect for us? Once we’ve decided that whatever we fear we might have to lose is not as important as what we have to gain, we begin to taste the freedom.
What if we weren’t afraid that our brightest light would consume someone else’s? What if we didn’t hide our greatest jewels for that day we might need to use them, but drew from them every day….What if we always knew there was more than enough of our brilliance and beauty to last forever? Couldn’t it change our relationship with all forms of abundance in our lives?
I feel that this is an especially good time energetically to explore what it would be like to be yourself in technicolor…to add a bit of the immense flavor of your soul and its amazing potential to everything that you do and choose. A time to let a little more of who you are be seen, and to see the fruits of engaging that deeply in your life. Start with what you love most, and try making an agreement with yourself to do more of it. In doing so you naturally let the inner gold shine through, and that abundance flows into everything in your life.
