It was a summer night, late while I was walking the grounds as I always do when I can’t sleep, when I first remembered the white heat…

I remember when I had the earliest flash of Phoibe, a Priestess of the ancient Oracle site of Dodona in Greece. I didn’t know her name yet, and I thought the vision came related to my upcoming course The Black Doves: The Priestesses of Dodona. I’m used to having visions come before I teach a course or class, and I thought already knew about all the stories that would be in my book.
But then, one day while I was writing to a fellow author and asking if he, too, received his book in visions, Phoibe suddenly came to me, and was ready to tell me her story. I shifted to a blank page and began writing immediately, channeling solidly after that for over an hour, barely able to get the words out as fast as they came.
Because they seemed to come at the pace of lightning…
It was fitting, since Phoibe turned out to be not just a Priestess at the ancient site of Dodona, the oldest Oracle site in Greece, but one who remembered, one warm summer night having been…long before the temple…a Lightning Nymph. She, like I, was channeling an older story…
And what had awakened her, in the very first sense of these memories coming back, was a kiss…
“We once lived in that brush of lips…”
In a time when the body still felt like a blossom, and when lightning scrawled messages across the earth…magic had been tangible, and what brought her back to that power was what it felt like to experience a kiss.
When Phoibe remembers, her abilities begin to open up again…and this is what needs to happen for each of us. We become activated, and suddenly we remember how the “sap” can rise in us when we feel the sap rise in the ancient Oak…we can hear what the wind needs to tell us, and we begin to know the way…
I didn’t expect to begin to share part of Phoibe’s story now, while she’s still just in the process of sharing it with me. But these stories want to be told so badly, and want to bring the activations and transmissions they are meant to, that the voices have become more urgent…
Now, they say. Not when the time seems perfect or you feel ready…now…
This is the Lightning Path. It’s a path I was told I’d be taking at the beginning of this year: this year you will wield lightning. I felt it move through me when I read those words. Soon after, I was guided to share a chapter of my upcoming book, that I also never thought I’d share in advance, and then sent on a writing retreat that came into being in what felt like the snapping of fingers, where I had magical experiences I have barely recounted yet. Now I’m beginning to share about Phoibe while she is still whispering her story into my ears…
I’m following the lightning, what was known to the lightning nymphs and those that came soon after them as “the path of rapid results”… As soon as this began, the Lightning Nymphs also came, inspiring me to share my course about the Priestesses of Dodona again…the ones who could hear prophetic messages on the wind, something we can all remember how to do, as we did, hand in hand sometimes and barefoot, under the Oak trees at Dodona. Only this time I’d be teaching not just about the ways of listening to the wind, but the lightning path of the ancient Nymphs too…
There is another important piece of all of this that I will share about soon…what grounds all of this is as important as any of those gifts that come from it, and is what makes them possible…
