Stillness and Desire
A Reading of Current Energies
Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

We sit, at this moment, poised between eclipses. On Saturday March 3rd there was a total lunar eclipse during the full moon, and upcoming on this Sunday, March 18th there will be a partial solar eclipse during the new moon. That will be just a few days before the spring equinox on the 20th. Even someone unaware of these movements would have been likely to feel the immense energies of the last several weeks, the same energies that were building for months before that.
According to Goddess Sekhmet, who was bringing through information for the last Oracle Transmission, we are entering a time in which there will be very powerful solar energies coming in our direction over the rest of March, and returning strongly again in June and July. She said that prior to the lunar eclipse the lunar energies had been in full dominion, stirring us inwardly in powerful ways which would become manifest and expressed outwardly in our lives as the solar energies emerged.
It was made clear that the lunar energies have been both gentle at times, and at other moments like the wrathful goddess, destroying whatever we needed to let go of in order to move forward into a powerful phase in our lives…creating what Durga once called, “fierce liberation.” These lunar energies have risen in some ways to a feverish pitch within us and some of us may be yearning for some kind of release or expression of these energies. For others of us it may just feel like being tired and fatigued, and a readiness for new energy and support to enter.
This is what the incoming solar energies are all about…indeed they are about unveiling for each of us a deeper level of our spiritual power, based on and emerging from our inherent royalty as divine beings. This new level of our awareness of our spiritual power is paramount in its timing and beautiful importance. Space is being made as we speak for this power to have a place in our lives…that is what these last few months have been about.
So if you are feeling worn out, or buzzing with unexpressed energies, you have every reason to be and the shift is coming. If you have not thought about what you would like to invite in with this new shift, certainly now would be a good time, but the likelihood is that you have been thinking a lot about it and are not sure why it hasn’t manifested yet. Know that it has been manifesting underground, and the signs of new life, like the signs of spring, will emerge very soon.
So rather than this being a time for making elaborate plans, these next several days or week might be about just letting yourself be in the limbo. The seeds have been planted, the prayers released. Your heart has been broken and mended and perhaps broken open again. You have done all you can and need to for now. This would be an excellent moment, as you read these words, to imagine diving deeper into the ocean inside yourself. Below the wild waves at the surface. They have taught you much and given you signs, but now it is okay to let yourself dive deep into the silent spaces far below…where all is still.
Though you will follow your inspiration into natural action when the time is right, there is nothing you need to do right now to push or force movement in order for your dreams to manifest. You can just relax in that very still place of trust and let your beings, and this glorious universe, put your dreams into action in the fertile space of these energies. When the quiet moments have passed there will be plenty of time to renew your passions and adjust your sails, and all the energy available to do so.
May your garden of stillness be sweet, like the softness of a warm night before a day that you have dreamed of. Love, Jennifer

“I live by the ocean,
and during the night,
I dive into it,
down to the bottom,
underneath all currents…
I drop my anchor,
and this is where I’m staying,
this is my home.”

Spring Beginnings

Monday, March 5th, 2007
I can’t say I know what makes the bright green head of a sprout suddenly arrive in the open air from the dark moist earth, but I can say that I have felt that feeling in my own heart. I have felt my own heart trust something unimaginable and burst forward with new life. For me springtime, in any of its forms, is always that amazing reminder that life always and inevitably, follows death.
Those moments when a new light comes over everything and it seems as if everything has been washed and is new…those are the moments when anything seems possible again. If we were always in complete memory of our true nature, life would feel that way at all times. Anything, any spring, that can remind us of the ever-present new world of possibilities all around us is a blessing.
It doesn’t matter if it isn’t spring where or when you read this, only that the energy of spring is transmitted to your heart with these words. I look around my house and I see the stumps of the trees we lost in the winter storms, and the leveled blackberry bushes. Everywhere I see endings. I know we all have moments in our lives that feel that way. But if I tune in just a bit deeper I feel life moving…so profoundly and with such energy and vitality. Just under the earth there is a force more powerful than anything I can see with my physical eyes, and it is moving to bring new life to the surface of the world.
This new energy is not just there because it is spring. It is always there. It is an energy that is cascading off the moon and the sun and the trees and your human body. It is boundless and creates waves of abundant energy that is accessible to us. The new sprouts and blossoms of spring just remind us of this.
In the next week or two the island I live on will be covered in blossoming fruit trees, mostly pink and overwhelmingly enchanting. Then there will be a phase when those petals are always falling on the breezes and filling the streets, sidewalks, and grasses with tiny kisses from the heavens. After all the petals have fallen the larger flowers will bloom, everything will look green, and then, just when it begins to quiet, the wild rose buds will begin to come out and their fragrance will fill the air.
It will continue on this way until the sweet peas spill in purple over fields and at summer’s end the grass dries everywhere and you can smell the hot earth. Then, in the fall, the bright red madrona berries will be splashed along the skyline…and then everything will become quiet again. Twenty years in close contact with one place that I adore has given me this gift, but you can have the gift of noticing cycles anywhere, at any time. Keeping contact with the moon was the only thing that gave me the sense that I was still on the same planet when I moved to India at nineteen years old.
When we notice nature’s cycles we are reminded of our own cycles and of the amazing power that we are, and that fills us at all times. If you have been looking around your life and seeing nothing but endings, remember that there is only one meaning left within that…new life is bound to be bursting forward before you know it and when you aren’t even looking yet.
If you live in this hemisphere, and not in the tropics, and spring is indeed unfolding now in your world, give yourself an afternoon off and take a walk somewhere that things grow. Look for the signs of spring around you and take them all as signs of your new life coming into being, and as signs that the seeds you planted in the past with fervent hopes and prayers, are now coming to be.
Love, Jennifer
