Not Waiting for the New Earth

new world

I am not waiting for the new earth. I am living on it. We among the “New Age” have been waiting for some time now…for the return of the ascended masters, for the year 2012, for the earth changes…for enlightenment. I condone the somewhat radical view that we stop waiting for anything and get on with experiencing the new earth now. There isn’t a single structure in existence that can truly hold us back when we are ready.

Every day we have choices, about what to feel and how we see our own futures and that of the world. We find solace in telling ourselves that heaven awaits us at some point and we will find bliss. All that stands between ourselves and bliss are our fears that it is not appropriate for us to choose it. We know exactly what our bliss would feel like at some level, and the universe knows exactly how to give it to us, but we have to be willing to say yes to ourselves and no to anything that does not support or reflect us, first.

It seems like such a small idea…one that fits into a single sentence. But to truly implement this idea into our lives is a type of activism with immeasurable power. I am going to repeat it in fact: We have to be willing to say yes to ourselves and no to anything that does not reflect or support us. (before we can experience bliss and embody the new world).

Why not now? Not when we ascend, not when we make it big, not when we have more money, not when the kids are grown, not when we meet that perfect partner, not when our parents die, not when we discover our perfect truth, not when we have accomplished feats that we think build worth but may not even enjoy…but now.

For the “New Earth” is not a place we will beam up to when this one falls apart. The New Earth is a sacred code for a new land in your heart where you feel free. Then all the insurmountable seeming trials of the world fall away, and you are not even intrigued by looking back because there is just way too much to look forward to.

The New Earth is a vibration. A frequency at which one can simply begin to vibrate at any time. It doesn’t mean there aren’t moments when you may feel drawn back out of that frequency once you have found it, but the more time you spend within it the stronger it becomes inside you, and the harder it is for something to draw you out.

If you reflect upon it a bit, you will find that you know exactly what helps you get into this state of being. You may very rarely have those experiences, but if you search within yourself you will find them. Then you just have to start making space for them in your life and indulging yourself. It may be a struggle at first to reclaim these joys, or even if you have reclaimed them, to say yes to giving yourself as much of it as you want. We have been fooled into saying no to ourselves for a long time, and it is the path of the old earth calling us back when we hear those voices.

I recommend getting on a horse…it is harder to hear those voices with the wind in your hair and easier to get perspective from just a little bit above. Though you may actually have the chance to ride horses, I am speaking energetically of riding the waves that the universe is providing, rather than feeling you have to paddle along on your own. We can be naked and strong at the same time. The universe is giving birth right now, and all the time, and it is your birth. Ride these waves of creation into your new world, and claim the right that comes with that birth, as creator. You were born to the greatest king and queen that ever existed, the great universe itself, and therefore may take your royal place at any time. You are not waiting for it…it is waiting for you.

Crazy

And they can call me crazy if I fail,
all the chance that I need,
is one in a million
and they can call me brilliant,
if I succeed,
gravity is nothing to me,
moving at the speed of sound,
I just want to get my feet wet in it,
until I drown.

Ani Difranco, Swan Dive

This image of Frida Khalo is on my refrigerator in a place where I can look at it almost all the time. It is a picture of her during her time in New York, far from the warm colors of her home in Mexico. I first saw it on the wall in my sister’s apartment in San Francisco and was taken by it right away. The next day my sister gave it to me as a gift and I cherish this coffee-stained, computer printed image greatly.

How often do many of us feel this way? Like a bright spot of color on a gray landscape…like a fish out of water…like we belong somewhere else. When I feel out of place I look at this picture. I look at her posture and nobility. I look at her radiance. I look at her cigarette. I look at the fact that she did not change herself to suit the environment, and yet the extent to which she herself changed the environment she entered is as obvious as imagining how bleak this image would be without her presence in it. In other words, instead of letting her environment change her, she changed her environment.

And yet from her eyes she saw only the gray buildings…she herself was not in her own image of the world unless she painted herself. Likely why she painted herself so often. It is a metaphor for how often we are a light and do not even realize it. When we don’t invest in ourselves and our wildest dreams it is because we have not fallen in love with ourselves, and when we have not fallen madly and head-over-heels in love with ourselves, it is usually because we can’t see ourselves. Ironically, if we do finally get a glimpse of ourselves it is often altered or mutated by the effects of not having invested in ourselves, causing a kind of loop.

So how to we break the cycle? Be radical. Because yes, they can call you crazy if you fail, but all the chance that you need is one in a million. Because you are one in a million. There are things about yourself that you don’t even know yet, and one of the only ways to find out is to break out of old ways of seeing ourselves…to jump ship into wild waters and see what is waiting for us inside the bright colors of our imaginations. We learn, even when dreaming, to make it seem achievable, often by making it small or setting limits on it. To dream big, to try a new style, to dare, to paint your entire floor rather than a tiny piece of paper, to turn the direction of your life in a totally different way…it takes courage. And true courage comes from something unexplainable, so that the best words I can put to it are passion and desire. It is the yearning of the heart that turns the wheel of the universe.

Take a chance on yourself. You have nothing to lose by believing in yourself boldly and unreservedly. You are the very best aspect of the universe to believe in. You are loved so amazingly by the universe, and that love can give you the wings for any flight. You just have to be willing to be a bird, and to enter the skies…
