Consulting Oracles

delphi oracle bw Consulting Oracles:
Ancient Oracles and the Oracles of Today

Jennifer Posada

I don’t know what I expected to find in Delphi…in my mind I only held obscure references to some mystical past. What I found was what I have come to find at all places of ancient sacredness or “ruins”…layers and layers.

Delphi rose out of my imagination and into form one autumn day…the greek countryside opened itself around the mountain side. The valley, so clearly once an ocean bed, glowed knowingly, having held the same sea that had scattered its shells on those mountains so many ages ago.

The tourists go for the ruins…for the temples to Apollo, the punishing architecture of coliseums where battles were fought “for the gods.” There are three columns left of Athena’s temple…one small respite for the goddess it seems. But don’t be fooled. The true respite for the force of life is not to be found in the temple walls, the broken rock edges of right-angles.

Near-by you will find a natural spring. It flows beside the place they say the oracles spoke. That place is also made of stone, but made by nature, not by man. These stone walls are pink and blush and rust and sun and have been polished by water with love. These walls have not been cut or measured.

hall oracle They say the oracles sat on high seats above an opening into the earth where the energies came out, unfettered, undivided. They say the oracles were women.

For me Delphi was a waking dream…a place of immense power and beauty. However we do not need special places for this connection to occur. We do not need anything more pure than any earth under any pair of feet in this world. The entire earth throbs with pure life-force, at all times offering us healing power. The entirety of consciousness is constantly there for us to access if we are humble and kind with the immensity of wisdom that exists in this universe.

Everything that has ever been known exists within each cell of your body. There is no knowledge that is out of your reach because all knowledge is our birthright. We all have an inner library. That is the akashic records we often hear speak of. They are indeed stored inside the Sphinx in Egypt, but not literally or physically. The Sphinx is a physical representation of an energy that guards the records of the universe which lives within all things.

Some of us are record keepers more consciously than others. Some of us have made the soul choice to carry information and store information more intentionally. We greet the Sphinx daily and this great creature daily gives us entry to the birthright of each soul in creation.

We are taught that our intuition is imagination in this world. Then, often if we join a community which accepts such intuitions, we are taught that we must have the right tool, the right training, the right seal in our aura, the right lineage, the right guides. We were born with the right. We have the power to strive to do good, and therefore good for ourselves, or to do harm and therefore harm to ourselves. We are each the chosen one, and god or goddess gave each one of us the power of life and choice.

Beyond saving the world with the perfect energy work or the right ceremonies and dances, there are the simple things. Giving more compliments. Realizing your gifts and offering them. Being nicer than you have to be. Being a little more compassionate than “necessary” and yet being truthful even when it “hurts.”

best spring The oracles of today are sitting next to you. Everyone has a wisdom to share. The oracles of today are pioneers of positivity in a sanctimoniously sarcastic world. The oracle you seek is waiting in your body in a place you perhaps have not visited yet, in the flower ready to bloom next to the place you walk, in the first thought you have in the morning…if you dig deep enough to feel the roots.

Go to the roots…as deep as you can. Make it a practice. There are always layers…like the ruins I spoke of. We each have layers and it is at the root that you will find the answers to why you have the kinds of fruit you have in your life. Dig deeper and you will find the oracle of every living thing, always wanting to sing its unique song…and be heard.
