The Sibyl’s Cave: Return of the Ancient Prophetesses

A Special Late-Fall Oracle Course with Jennifer Posada

I shall gather myself into myself again, I shall take my scattered selves and make them one, I shall fuse them into a polished crystal ball, Where I can see the moon and the flashing sun.

I shall sit like a sibyl, hour after hour intent, Watching the future come, and the present go.

A Five Session Course by Telephone Conference

The Sibyls were ancient prophetesses of great power and strength.  Born of nymph mothers and human fathers, they were part magical creature and part human, and therefore though they looked a great deal like others, they were always different.  They were incapable of not speaking their truths, or living by them.  For this reason, among others, they moved to natural places that had special qualities, like caves, springs, or streams in the forest, and lived in communities of their own company.  Here they could be understood, and here they could hear the voice of the goddess, and of themselves, most clearly.

Because the Sibyls had such a clear line to wisdom and knowing, their revelations were sought out.  But they had no interest in speaking to those who were not courageous and true in their questioning.  They would make it very difficult to reach them, or write their prophecies on leaves left at the mouth of caves, only to be read if collected and arranged properly in time.  They would only answer the questions they found meaningful.  In fact they would only do as they chose, in all cases.  This was their way.  They were self-honoring by nature.  They had both the blessing and the curse of being consistently true to themselves.  It is time for the curse in this blessing to fade away, and leave it wholly as it is…for to know oneself is to know all.  To love oneself is to love all.

The Sibyls were known to speak their prophecies from a state of wild abandon.  They were not afraid of any darkness.  They were not afraid because they knew every terrain of darkness and how to move through to the other side.  Therefore they could be in complete peace with themselves and the universe.

The Sibyls were masters of Sound.  They would sing their prophecies, but more importantly perhaps, they would use sound as their wordless communion with the whole of creation, and to stay close to their knowingness of themselves.  They, having different genetics than other humans, lived many hundreds of years.  This was a source of great trial for the Sybils, and great pain.  But it was also one of the most profound gifts of their condition.  It made them wise and strong beyond all comprehension.

We too can be wise and strong beyond what we have yet comprehended.

Call forth the gifts of the Sibyl within you:

*Remember and re-access lifetimes as a Sibyl, and heal any pain from being “different,” and having to remain strong through many trials…

*Remember the gift of entering the cave, and the power of self-reflection it affords…

*Learn to use sound as a source of revelation and connection to the deepest self…

*Return to the sense of union with other Sibyls, as so many were ultimately spread apart…

*Invoke the pure power of reconnecting with the earth and the elements…

*Enter into the realm of knowing and expressing your truth in all that you do…
