Magdalen’s Passion

Message from Magdalen:

Dearest Ones,

I will speak not of this moment but of those soon to come…moments lit by the afterglow of an eclipse. Not just the eclipses which are found in the heavens, but those which follow them within. Those which speak from the heart of new worlds and new horizons in one’s own life. I speak of the moment’s after birth when one can claim one’s creation or let its power be lost in dispossession. We have entered a time in which being able to possess one’s own gifts and creations is paramount, and must be honored. We have passed the time in which graciousness was equal to subservience and non-acknowledgment of the self. We are entering the time of the great self-embrace in which we must claim the power that runs through us like blood through our veins, that is unique to each of us and can only be given once possessed.

These are times in which my words have the greatest import and potential impact, and wherever you may hear these words…do listen. You may hear them from a rose or from your own heart, from what is written or spoken or sung; but do listen for these words are words your heart has ached to hear for many an age and countless a year. These words speak of the nectar which allows your heart to bloom, and never to wither.

There are things you have always known you could do but have doubted or down-played since your youth, or even birth. There are gifts you know you have but have given to others in detraction…there are gifts in you that you know run deeper than any river in any land but have been afraid to truly explore. Now is the time, now is the place. You have been afraid it is a wrong to call these gifts your own, but indeed how else can you truly embody the divine that you are? You know these gifts belong to the divine, and yet that itself means they belong to you, but if you do not own them they lie dormant at a time when the earth needs them the very most.

There are several reasons why we hide from the power within us in the current times. The first is that we have been taught that it is dangerous and that we are still infants as humans and should not touch such things. We must grow up in order to find the wise child within who is fearless, and can lead us all the places our adulthood has blinded us to. We are afraid of the responsibility of this seemingly-dangerous power and we are afraid of the repercussions. We have been fooled. There is nothing to fear in this power, and no wrongdoing in truly manifesting it as empowered beings. We must become the masters or we will never find the answers we are seeking.

We also hide from the power within because we presume we could not deserve its rewards and its absolute and total freedom. We find that this would literally be taking liberty. One can not take what is one’s own, nor simply receive it. One can only become it. We are already this freedom, we are already these gifts. We are already the power that lives inside us.

We do not need permission to become what we already are. We were born free both as souls and into form, and then taught to live as if imprisoned. No one is holding the key to our freedom, and we are not fugitives escaping if we decide to use it. If, to take your freedom, you are a fugitive of the shell of the old self dying, let it be so.

However there is only one thing more powerful than the fear of holding back one’s gifts, and that is the passion for something more. One cannot simply convince oneself by rationale or altered vice…one must be called so strongly, seduced so completely by one’s own true beauty, that all else falls away and nothing else is as powerful a compass or as true a guide.

Find your passion, and your surrender to it will follow. Find the deep ravines of your gifts and dive a little deeper into their waters every time you visit them in your heart. Begin to ask yourself the things you know but do not question, and listen, do listen, to the answers. You know within you all of what I have spoken this day, and every day as I whisper to you in silence. Take heart, for I sigh with you when you sigh, and soar with you when you soar.

madrona

I know what it is like to have days become like moments that slip between your fingers…like paper that becomes brittle in your hands, almost dissolving with your touch. But I also know how much more powerful that makes the moments that we truly reclaim ourselves and our lives.

It is the spring equinox for many of us in the world today, and light is returning moment by moment now. The shift is evident. A few days ago the sun came out and the air became tepid and sweet. My backyard is filled with beaches and madrona trees…it is what I, deeply biased, believe to be the most beautiful back yard in the world. For months of the year it is uncomfortable to visit, and then, all of the sudden the ocean is glimmering with sunken jewels and I am somehow drinking from it. The madrona trees become lit from within and radiate a warmth like the sun, melting the hard places that braced themselves during the cold winter. Suddenly I don’t have to remember who I am, because everything around me is reminding me.

If we can live a life this way it is incredible, but since most of us don’t spend twenty-four hours a day meditating under a blanket of trees, it is a good thing that isn’t necessary. What is necessary, truly vital to the soul, is that we find out what nourishes, redeems, and reminds us of everything we care about…and that we visit those places, people, and things which hold that energy.

We want to lead abundant lives, and we pray for this regularly. We have, no matter where or how we live, somewhere in our lives or surroundings, something like a magic portal into another land. It is an enchanted land where dreams are real and you can be free. Most of us seal off the magic doorway either because we have been trained to, or because somewhere along the way we didn’t think we could spend time there and still live in the world and do what we needed to do.

I am here to say that we, as constantly re-awakening Oracles in this world, do indeed need our magic places where we can drink from the nectar of our remembering. We need places, or people, or things, which hold us and not just which we are holding together. We need places in our lives that are absolutely and completely effortless. Walking in the woods that day there was nothing missing, nothing unfinished, nothing lacking, nothing restrained. There was only freedom, and confirmation, and perfection.

Don’t be afraid to drink from the magic waters, and not just pray for them. Seek them out, even if you have denied yourself or feel that you have become numb…seek out that which still lights the flame in your heart and indulge in it. Make a picnic, bring a journal, have people you truly enjoy over for a circle of some kind, take a trip somewhere, make a new altar…find the space that is effortless, even if it begins as a slender crack you can barely fit through, and stay there until you open to it fully. There is no time like now to surrender to that which brings joy to your heart. May it be truly great…Love, Jennifer
