Why We Must Remember

Watching the new Harry Potter movie tonight it came back to me again. The same resonance I have watching Lord of the Rings. I should think it is a feeling you might have too…you who are reading this right now. You know what it feels like to feel a little like Frodo or Harry. This is because each of us is a bit like them. The power to change everything is in our hands…if we but truly knew it.

People think I teach about accessing intuition. The truth is that that is just the half of it, at best. I am teaching people how to remember. Or, more accurately, reminding them how to remember. The truth is that it is time for the Great Remembering to occur…and you are needed…you and your gifts.

We think our gifts only matter to the sphere of people who they obviously touch, or seem not to touch. We try to find out if our gifts are profitable enough to support us (which is a very real issue in the physical world) and if they are not we think the universe is not supporting us. Not true…in fact, the universe is morphing right at this very moment to reflect that support, and by giving our gifts we actually help make that happen.

What do I mean by “our gifts?” Do I mean our healing practices and art projects? Yes. Do I mean more than that too? Yes.

I mean the things you give people with your presence, or your words, or your expressions and creations that no one else could. The things that make you wholly and unbelievably unique. Most of us are taught to set those things aside early in life, because it has often truly been hard to make a living at them. Our elders thought it wise to make sure we could support ourselves, or had a vested interest in drowning our dreams as theirs were…either way we were told that sitting under a tree and listening very carefully to the wind wasn’t going to make us a living…and nor was drawing symbols in the margins of our notebooks. But these are the very ways we knew how to listen to our Oracles…these were our gifts. Reclaiming them will take every ounce of power we have, because the voices will come forward that tell us not to…that tell us they are worthless.

You see I am about to reveal to you everything you need to know about the dark side. The dark side is negativity. It is self-doubt. It is that which effectively makes us question what is most holy and sacred about who we are…our divinity. It works through negative thoughts and lack of presence. The people you know who seem to be vessels of negativity are sometimes just asleep at the wheel. They were so un-present that the darker forces began to drive their cars for them. They weren’t necessarily possessed or taken over…they just hand their will away for little moments here and there. They don’t believe in themselves and therefore, even if they are spiritually focused, no matter how many mantras they speak or meditation practices they perform, they don’t truly believe in anything. And yet we often give our power over to them. They strut across the stage as if they have no self-doubt and we are drawn to this fool’s gold. This apparition. We don’t ask our hearts. If we ask our hearts, and truly learn to hear the answer…we can never go wrong.

Ever since I was a little girl I knew I was here on this earth to teach about Self-Love. I knew there was no greater key, and no finer revelation than the love of the true Self, and the recognition that this Self was fully divine. Notice that I did not say the thought, or the concept…because I mean the actual experience of recognition. The revelation. This is what Oracles came to the earth, and have always been on the earth, to reveal…this is what your remembering is. Remembering who you truly are. We are all Oracles…and everything around us is an Oracle too…waiting to always somehow remind us, if we but learn how to recognize the signs. Even things that seem dark have light within them somewhere.

Darkness itself has two forms: that which holds all light, (like the Void,) and that which hides from it. They are twins though…two sides of the same coin, and even that which hides eventually finds the light within. It is why the good guy always wins in the end. It isn’t just a story.

So what can you do to be more impervious to darkness? Believe in yourself. That is the greatest secret I can share. The only one. “Know Thyself” said the Oracle at Delphi. “Believe in Thyself” says this one. When you believe in yourself the doubt flees. For again, doubt is the way that darkness gets into our minds. It doesn’t devour or destroy us…it just weakens and disempowers us, which certainly can ultimately make us more vulnerable to danger. Energetic or otherwise. If we stop believing in ourselves we give our power away, and then my friends, no mysterious and ominous prophecies here, just that then we don’t have it anymore…because we’ve given it away.

We can get it back though. Any time. It is totally up to us. But we must reclaim our thoughts and emotions. We must catch our doubts in the night. The doubts that tell you that you are not smart enough…not pretty enough…getting older…too young…not as successful or gifted as so-and-so…and on and on and on. Once the negative loop begins it just propagates over and over, scattering its seeds. Anything that tells us we are not good enough is a part of that force. It doesn’t mean the person or situation is “bad,” but instead that you must simply be aware of the forces at play and not give in to them.

Many people have given in to inducing negative feelings in others because they don’t know how else to get energy. They are starving for love and have either never experienced it or don’t know how to let it in. They feel so bad about themselves deep down that it is like a cancer in the heart. Instead of learning how to feed from the true light of the individuals around them (because they don’t yet know how,) they try to make others feel bad about themselves so they can drain off their light. It makes a world of difference how people obtain their power and energy. If you are doing your best to feel good about yourself than it is a talisman, against which darkness becomes harmless.

This does not mean you have to avoid feeling negative. It is important that we know and explore what we feel negative about and not falsely paste a positive attitude onto everything. It is about being authentic…and feeling negative when necessary without giving it our power and will. And staying positive or in self-belief or self-love doesn’t mean nothing negative will come our way either, it just means we will have the tools to deal with it when it does. Believing in ourselves builds confidence…or more literally the ability to confide in oneself, and therefore the divine. This makes us truly strong from the inside out.

I don’t usually write about such things. I leave that to my ancient sisters who sat in the depths of caves foaming at the mouth and mercilessly warning the arrogant men around them that their time of doom was coming. There is no doom greater than that of feeling separate from ones own Self and God. That is the only curse there is, and only we have the power to allow ourselves to receive it. Many can send it, and we must learn to repel it. Most of them have no idea that that is what they are doing…it is just what has always been done to them. It is how their parents treated them, and then their friends at school, and then their spouses. It is all they have ever known.

If we can’t name the negativity in our lives then in some small way we are letting it lead us. Even if it is just during certain times of the day or year that we give in to it. We are bred on negativity in this world. It came with our milk in the cafeteria lines at school and pours out of magazine pages and tvs. It is everywhere. Ah, but so is the positive life force, and nowhere stronger than in our magnificent hearts.

We have to learn to run on an alternative fuel. Yes, it makes us different. Yes, it loses us friends…but it will gain you the kind of friends you would most wish to have. We are so afraid of being alone that we isolate ourselves. Isn’t that ironic? When we begin to run on positive fuel…on happiness and self-belief, we are almost seen as traitors by some of the others around us. Even as attackers. “How dare you believe in yourself and not give me the light you used to give me? How dare you betray and abandon me?” And this is how they draw us back…just enough to keep us stuck.

But let me tell you friends, because self-doubt happens to every single one of us, even if you yourself are not tired of the places you feel captive, there will be a louder and louder call with each passing day for you to free yourself for the many too. You see people are asleep. When you give in to negativity and self-doubt you join their ranks. You go back to sleep too. When you remember you are awake. When you empower your gifts you become a guiding force in the Great Remembering, and we need those guiding forces…as many as we can with lights moving over the vast landscapes and reminding others.

And we need to come together. When and however we can, with kindred spirits…with other Oracles. There may not be many in your life but there will be. We must come together against all odds and make the effort in our lives to do so. We must maintain ties and rekindle true fellowship, and invite more. But we must also know exactly when to end relationships in our lives that deplete and drain us, or we will be trapped in a repeating cycle until we do. If that is what we must do, then so be it. If we become trapped in a loop it will still show us the way home…it just takes longer and offers different gifts along the way.

There is no great war but the one within us. And we must be armed with happiness and self-belief, and true togetherness whenever possible. I know…happiness isn’t always easy to find. But if we look for it more than we look for anything else, if we give the energy to it that we have invested in self-doubt, it will be naturally-occurring. We must find what feels good. Yes, I want to say it again: what feels good. The simplest of notions and yet one left with the apples in the garden of eden. What feels good. But we can’t just find it. We have to know what really feels good and what just masks us. And then we have to do it over, and over, and over again. We have to know it is okay for us to feel good. For that is what was taken from us with the concept of the original sin. We stopped trusting ourselves.

In fact this is what every organization or established religion has done which wished to control us…make us stop believing in ourselves. Because, you see, then we can fear. Why should we be surprised that it is happening still?

I know, some of us knew this before and we stood for the truth, and were killed or worse. I know. That is why we avoid remembering now sometimes…we believe it was the remembering that did this to us. But it was the forgetting. We can heal it. It doesn’t matter if it was the forgetting of others, or our own when you really come down to it. It was collective, to varying degrees. What matters is not the forgetting but the remembering…just as what matters is not the self-doubt but the self-belief…not the negativity but the positivity. We spend so much time, even on our “spiritual quests” looking at what is wrong with us, instead of what is right!

It is a mastery…something taught to all true initiates…you must train yourself. You must believe in yourself, and cultivate and nurture that self-belief. You must help it grow with your focus and awareness. You must foster your gifts. They are like new grass and if they are stepped all over by the big boots of doubt they never have a chance. You must build them a protective haven and believe in them enough to do so.

This is why I write, sing and speak about positivity, self-love, and faith. This is why you don’t hear me talking about the end of the world…except as ultimately a good thing. Feed yourself with the things that support your self-love, and don’t eat the poison of self-hate. And if there is poison left inside you from some other time and history, feel the self-love anyway and it will eat that poison on its own. It is more powerful than you may know.

I hope that everything I do in this life, and every endeavor I do impart, be of that which is a well and a spring. Like the wells and the springs of the Oracle-Nymphs of ages past, a source of nurturing, support, and remembering bubbling up from the heart of the universe, of the goddess, and of god. In the name of your own bright light…
Love,
Jennifer
